CDLE VIP

The design takes inspiration from nature, combining warm finishes, natural patterns and textured surfaces to soften the clinical character of the room. Rather than expressing the hospital’s identity through conventional branding, BB Design translated its patient-centred values into a calm and welcoming atmosphere. Healthcare-compliant wood-effect finishes, hygienic flooring and washable surfaces ensure that this residential feel never comes at the expense of hygiene or durability.

Creating a complete VIP experience within a narrow 25 m² footprint required meticulous space planning. Wheelchair accessibility, efficient circulation, sanitary facilities, furniture and lighting all had to coexist with existing medical-gas and technical systems. A custom overnight bed was even integrated for a partner or family member. Through precise measurements and careful coordination, every element was designed to make a compact room feel comfortable, functional and considered.

BB Design managed the complete design-and-build process, from partial demolition and technical works to lighting, furniture, bathroom installation and final finishes. As a pilot room, the project also serves a broader purpose: demonstrating a new standard of comfort, functionality and visual quality for future VIP accommodation. Positive feedback from both the hospital and its patients confirms the potential of a more hospitality-led approach to healthcare interiors.
