Bord de Meuse

Located along the Meuse in Hermalle-sous-Argenteau, Bord de Meuse is a contemporary co-working space combined with the offices of Luc Spits Architecture. Designed as an extension of the building’s strong architectural concept, the interior reflects a clear ambition: to let architecture and furniture engage in a refined dialogue. BB Design was invited to support this vision through the careful selection of furniture and lighting that would elevate the spatial experience while remaining true to the building’s minimalist and precise character.

Architecture in dialogue with furniture

From the outset, the project was guided by a clear concept: every element had to feel like a natural continuation of the architecture. Furniture and lighting were selected to complement materials such as concrete, glass, steel and wood, reinforcing the building’s contemporary identity without competing for attention. The result is a restrained yet expressive interior, where proportions, textures and tones work together to create a timeless and coherent whole.

Balancing flexibility and refinement

Bord de Meuse brings together two distinct functions: a flexible co-working environment and the offices of an architectural practice. BB Design translated these needs into interiors that balance durability and adaptability with comfort and sophistication. Co-working areas encourage interaction and versatility, while the private offices reflect focus, expertise and calm — all supported by ergonomic solutions and carefully integrated acoustic and lighting elements.

A collaborative design process

Spanning eight months from first contact to completion, the project was shaped through close collaboration, extensive sampling and multiple design review rounds. BB Design worked hand in hand with Luc Spits Architecture, coordinating suppliers and testing configurations to ensure every detail aligned with the architectural intent. The result is an interior that feels precise, intentional and effortlessly integrated — praised by both the architectural team and the building’s users.
